LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

New affordable housing bills and proposals continue to shape out as lawmakers approach the 2019 bill introduction deadline (February 22). NPH is proud to be playing an active role.

Last week, NPH announced our co-sponsorship of SB 50 (Wiener), which would create more housing near transit, increase affordable housing opportunities in historically exclusionary communities, and provide critical tenant protections. "This bill supports our commitment to producing, protecting, and preserving affordable opportunities for our most vulnerable community members," said Amie Fishman, NPH Executive Director.

We're also calling for support on critical bills including NPH co-sponsored AB 10 (Chiu, et. al.), which would increase the State Low Income Housing Tax Credit by $500 million per year, and CHPC sponsored SB 9 (Beall), which permanently removes the sunset for certificated state credits.

And please join us at our February 7 Legislative Issues working group meeting where we'll discuss current bills, NPH priority legislation, CASA compact, RDA proposals and more. Questions or comments?
